Iftar by the minority communities in Atasehir

Machine translated. A native speaker will review it soon.

The seven minority communities organized the traditional iftar dinner for our Muslim fellow citizens this year.
The iftar was held yesterday, Thursday, June 22, at the Syrian Chaldean Waqf complex, in the Istanbul area, Atasehir.
As an official guest, the Assistant to the Prime Minister for Waqf Affairs, Mr. Veysi Kaynak, is present. Among others, the Assistant to the General President of the Ruling Party, Mr. Mehdi Eker, the Prefect, Mr. Vasip Şahin, the Mayor of Istanbul, Kadir Topbaş, the Assistant to the Mufti of Istanbul, Caner Akdemir, the General Director of the Foundations in Ankara, Mr. Adnan Ertem, and other parliamentarians and from the minority communities, both secular representatives and clerics.

In his speech, the Representative of Minority Institutions in Turkey, Mr. Toros Alcan, spoke about the Election Regulation that came into force on February 27, 2008 and was canceled on January 19, 2013 in order to improve it. As he pointed out, 4/5 years have passed and no new regulation has been issued and this is a fact that harms the communities.
Finally, he spoke about the feeling of empathy towards the minority communities, a feeling that has been noticeable over the last year and which, unfortunately, the judicial system is unable to respond to the complaints that are made.
In this matter he asked the state to take some measures as it is a very important issue for the non-Muslim minorities.
