15th Istanbul Biennial - Galata Urban School

On September 16, 2017 its inauguration takes place 15^her  Istanbul Biennale. This public program will last two months and will involve more than fifty activities. 
On September 16, İstanbul Kültür Sanat Vakıf (İKSV) under the patronage of Koç Holding opens the Biennale with the theme "A Good Neighbor". This was curated by Elmgreen & Dragset and concerns 56 artists from 32 countries. In Istanbul, this event brings together artists for the first time who will produce 30 brand new works. Under the theme "A Good Neighbour" there will be topics for discussion related to concepts such as home and neighbourhoods.
The exhibitions will take place in the welcoming spaces of İstanbul Modern, Galata Özel Rum İlköğretim Okulu, Pera Müzesi, Küçük Mustafa Paşa Hamamı, but also at the Yonçük Sanatçı Atölyesi in Asmalımescit and ARK Kültür in Cihangir. Entry to the Biennale activities will be free. The participants for two months will be able to think, cook, read and write music together with the artists.
This program will deal with topics such as the border line that separates the national border from the external border line, liberal signs from many cultures and will engage the audience with the program "We think together, cook together, read together and engage in music".
