EXCURSION PROGRAM

June 15, 2017 Thursday: Time 07.30 departure from Taksim Square.

Via Bolu (BOLU) and Ankara (ANKARA) and with intermediate stops, arrival at Lake Tata (TUZ GÖLÜ), stop for a panoramic view of the lake and then arrival at Karvali (GÜZELYURT), settling in the hotel, dinner and overnight.

June 16, 2017 Friday: After breakfast departure with the luggage from the hotel. Visit to the old Greek school and to the Church of Saint Gregory the Theologian (now a mosque) of Karvalis. Then departure for the canyon "PERISTREMMA" (IHLARA VADİSİ), visiting some of the cave temples in the canyon and departure for Malakopi (DERİNKUYU), where the underground city will be visited. Late afternoon arrival in Prokopi (ÜRGÜP), check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight.

June 17, 2017 Saturday: After the morning departure for Korama (GÖREME), visit to the cave churches and monasteries, then visit to the area, to various characteristic landscapes and formations, visit to AVANOS (AVANOS) and Ali (KIZILIRMAK) river. In the afternoon transfer to Arabissos (GÜLŞEHİR), where the vespers will be celebrated in the church of Agios Dimitrios. After Vespers return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.

June 18, 2017 Sunday: After the morning departure for Sinasos (MUSTAFAPAŞA), for the service that will be performed by the Ecumenical Patriarch Mr. Bartholomew, in the church of Saints Constantine and Helen. After the service, a walk to Sinasos and then a visit to Soando with its very characteristic landscape and cave churches. On the way to Prokopi, a visit to the birthplace of Saint George, Potamia (GÜZELÖZ). Arrival at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

June 19, 2017 Monday: After breakfast departure from the hotel with the luggage. Stop in Prokopi, at the house where Saint John the Russian lived. Walk to Prokopi and departure to return to Istanbul. Arrival at Taksim Square in the evening. END OF EXCURSION
